Lab Availability
At any time, a lab will be Open, Reserved, or Closed. (The IT&E unix cluster is available for remote log in even when the IT&E Lab rooms are closed.)
Open
An “open” lab is available to all IT&E students for their course work during its regular working hours. It is available after hours also to students with an access code. Science & Technology II, room 137 is an open lab.
Reserved
A reserved lab is strictly for lecture/lab sessions. Only students enrolled on the lecture/lab session scheduled at the time are allowed to use the lab resources. There will not be any 'walk-in' access to this lab, unlike an open lab.
Closed
Labs are closed, after working hours and on holidays, thus not available to the students. But you may use a lab after-hours or holidays if you have an access code (OMNILOCK pins) to the door.
Note: Access codes are given for open labs only.
Access Code (for after-hours access)
Students may obtain access code to an open lab, if they need to use its resources after-hours. Please fill out and submit the Access Code Request Form, to the office of the Director or IT&E Resources, in room 14.
NOTE: Failure to observe security guidelines on your part will lead to a revocation of your access code.
